last week (or the week before), somebody here on oppo posted this tip. Five minutes of scrubbing it down with a few gobs and a rag makes them look like new.
Not only did it work better than wheel cleaner, it is also a lot cheaper. TAKE THAT CAPITALISM
before pic for reference.

I don’t know if you saw or not but my local wholesale club (Bjs in my case) sells giant tubs of this magical stuff for like $7!!

just be aware that some of the versions contain pumice which will scratch paint if your wheels have it.

Gojo is gritty right? If so you are abrading, or “polishing” off the tarnish. You are basically using a house-hold alternative to metal polish if I remember Gojo correctly

it is indeed, to a point. seems to only remove the caked-on dirt on the rim.

I would highly stress trying in a small hidden spot first.
If you give no knits and want your wheels stripped.
Oven cleaner.
I did this on my 914. The originals were anodized which after 40 years had started to oxidize and stripped the top layer off. Now i have to clean every so often, but what a difference.

it wasnt bad on the wheel actually. there was a lot of buildup previously. a quick wipe just cleared it with no issue, I suppose spraying on a new coat of clear should make it a lot easier to clean.
